The requirements of EcoVadis, a leading provider of sustainability ratings, go even further. These requirements also include the aspect of ethical procurement. Here, we are very proud to have received a gold rating for the first time in 2022, after receiving silver in 2019 and 2021. This puts us in the top 6 % of the 90,000+ companies assessed by EcoVadis!

This product has been certified Halal (foods that are permissible according to Islamic law) under the supervision of Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFNCA). 

A product that is NSF H1 Registered is approved for use where there might be incidental food contact. The categorization of “lubricant for incidental food contact” represents the use of a lubricant which, as a consequence of general use of the machinery or equipment to which it is applied, may result in the contact of that substance with food. All of our Food Grade products are H1 Registered.  

This product has been certified Kosher and conforms to all the requirements of Jewish law.  

We first received its ISO 9001 certification in January of 1996, demonstrating a commitment to quality assurance and performance monitoring. ISO 9001 certification is an international quality standard that addresses a comprehensive list of business elements, including management responsibility, order processing, purchasing, process control, traceability, handling of non-conforming product, and internal auditing. Our present ISO 9001 certification is proof of our continuing quality commitment to our customers.

ISO 21469 specifies hygiene requirements for the formulation, manufacture, use and handling of lubricants, which may come into contact with products during manufacturing or processing. The international standard applies to lubricants intended for use in food production, as well as cosmetic, pharmaceutical and animal feed industries. NSF ISO 21469 Certification by an independent, third party provides Summit with a means to obtain international acceptance for their products.
