Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) are chemical compounds showing properties which according to the REACH Regulation may have serious effects on human health and the environment. Such substances are subject to special approval and information requirements. Substances so far identified are recorded by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in its SVHC list acc. to Article 59(1) of the REACH Regulation. Moreover, the Community Rolling Action Plan (CoRAP) keeps and updates a list of substances with certain hazardous properties to be evaluated within three years.
