Munich, 18 January 2024 - Claus Langgartner, Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing and Speaker of the Management Board (CEO), retired on 31 December 2023 after 25 successful years. During Claus Langgartner's leadership, Klüber Lubrication has achieved remarkable milestones, consolidated its market leadership and, through significant successes, especially in the areas of sustainability and energy efficiency, prepared itself for the future. Dr Wolfgang Sammer took over his duties on 1 January 2024.
"Dr Wolfgang Sammer brings a wealth of experience, innovative thinking and strategic vision as well as leadership qualities to the company, which make him the perfect person to lead Klüber into the next phase of growth and development. I wish him every success for the future," says Claus Langgartner about his successor.
Dr Wolfgang Sammer replies, "For me, it feels like both a new journey and the continuation of a long-standing commitment. I am delighted to play a key role in the next chapter of Klüber Lubrication's success story. Our management team is dedicated to finding sustainable solutions for our customers, as specialty lubricants can make an important contribution to energy efficiency."
Dr Sammer began his career at Klüber Lubrication in 2002 as a product manager. After holding several positions at Klüber's global headquarters, including Head of Business Development, he took on the role of Regional Manager Europe East and General Manager Sales/Marketing at Klüber Lubrication Austria from 2020 to 2023.
Klüber Lubrication is thereby making another important move in its management. Only a year ago, Thomas Wieandt, Chief Financial Officer, and Dr Dirk Loderer, Chief Technical Officer of the Klüber Group, left the Management Board at their own request. Markus Murmann took over from Thomas Wieandt as Executive Vice President Finance on 1 January 2023. On the same date, Dr Martin Schmidt-Amelunxen succeeded Dr Dirk Loderer as Executive Vice President Technology/R&D.
