Bonded coatings are an efficient method to protect components permanently against friction and wear. Solid lubricants ensure dry, clean and dirt-repelling surfaces across the entire service life of components. However, high-performance bonded coatings for very long services lives of components in most cases contain the solvents N-ethyl-pyrrolidone (NEP) or even N-methyl pyrrolidone (NMP) used in the past, which are considered CMR substances (carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic).
With Klübertop TP 47-391 A/B and Klübertop TP 48-311 A/B, Klüber Lubrication succeeded in developing two high-performance bonded coatings which do without these harmful substances. While Klübertop TP 47-391 A/B has been designed for extreme abrasion resistance, Kübertop TP 48-311 A/B stands out for its improved low friction values. Furthermore, these two products are suitable for zinc flake coatings.
"Our new bonded coatings can be used for the lifetime lubrication of steel/steel, steel/plastic and elastomer friction pairings in almost all industries", explains Rudolf Zechel, Project Manager Business at Klüber Lubrication. "The focus is on extreme long-term resistance and harmless raw materials".
In addition, the new 2-component bonded coatings are very resistant to aggressive media and protect coated components against corrosion. In automatic assembly lines the new bonded coatings also ensure that - unlike greased parts - the coated components do not tend to sticking.
Klübertop TP 47-391 A/B and Klübertop TP 48-311 A/B can be used across a wide service temperature range from -40 °C to 260 or 250 °C, respectively, and with surface pressures up to 80 MPa.
