Steel production is a multi-process industry fraught with challenges. The very high investments incurred at setting up a steel plant demands the quickest returns. Additionally, every component of the steel production process is required to produce higher volumes of steel year-on-year while maintaining the quality level and satisfying stringent environmental norms. The clearest strategy to achieve this includes low operational and maintenance costs and reliable operation without unplanned down-time.
To achieve this, lubrication must be appropriately designed for components exposed to high temperatures, high loads and constant vibration, and contamination with water, steam, acid, etc. For more than 85 years, Klüber Lubrication has stood by the global steel industry by providing solutions that respond to each of these challenges, no matter which part of the steel production process it is - from raw material processing, steel making and rolling to galvanizing and packing.
Never let the open gears blunt their teeth
One of the key components of a steel plant is its complex gear system. Klüber Lubrication offers Klüberlub OG 11–6000 BH as operational lubrication for open gear lubricants.
Klüberlub OG 11–6000 BH, the specialty Open Gear lubricant is based on high viscosity special mineral oil(6000 mm2/sec at 40°C) base oil, Aluminum Complex Soap thickener, solid lubricant along with Mox Active Organo Molybdenum Complex. The product meets FZG scuffing load test, (DIN ISO 14635– 3) more than load stage 12.
Klüberlub OG 11–6000 BH is used for heavily loaded small and large open gears to reduce friction and wear of highly stressed open gear mechanisms. They can also be used to lubricate guide ways and guide tracks, as well as low to moderate velocity bushings, plain and rolling element bearings.
The high viscosity base fluids used in the Klüberlub OG 11–6000 BH provide extreme pressure (EP) and anti-wear characteristics to the lubricants, enabling them to react synergistically under boundary lubrication conditions to provide superior protection to metal surfaces. Additionally the solid lubricants and additives in the product enhances the lubrication, prevention of wear and corrosion protection.
All of this in turn reduces maintenance costs and extends the life of the equipment, boosting the plan against unplanned downtime.
