Conveyor belts in the beverage industry play an important role in ensuring smooth production processes. They are subject to wear and also need to be maintained according to high hygienic standards. Adequate and correct lubrication of conveyor belts is critical to ensure smooth and trouble-free production processes. With its new Klüberplus C2 series, Klüber Lubrication has now developed a series of innovative products for the lubrication of plastic conveyor belts which combine the benefits of both wet and dry lubrication. The new products are registered as NSF H1 and are free of perfluorinated substances (PTFE) or silicone.
Many of the dry lubricants in usage today are based on silicone which is combined with water to form an emulsion. This has the disadvantage of residue formation, resulting in high cleaning effort," says Jürgen Murhammer, Global Market Manager Food Industry at Klüber Lubrication. “Our new conveyor belt lubricants, on the other hand, are homogeneous solutions where the soluble raw materials do not get separated. As a result, there is less residue build-up between the chain links resulting in less cleaning efforts”.
Specifically for the lubrication of conveyor belts transporting carton beverage packages, Klüber Lubrication has developed Klüberplus C2 K2 Ultra Dry. For the transport of PET bottles and metal cans, Klüber Lubrication offers two special lubricants, Klüberplus C2 PM2 Super Dry and Klüberplus C2 PM2 Ultra Dry, the Ultra Dry products being specifically designed for use in combination with Löhrke spraying equipment. Due to special formulation of the lubricants, the chains run cleaner and excellent lubrication properties ensure lower coefficient of friction. This results in smooth production flow and optimization of operational cost.
