New fully synthetic wheel flange lubricant for noise reduction and good wear protection

Highly efficient environmentally sound lubricant for rail vehicles

Munich, 18 September 2012 High friction forces between the wheel flange and the rail flank, particularly on curves passed at high speed, cause high wear of wheels and rails if lubrication is insufficient. If wear is high, the lifetime of wheels and rails is reduced and maintenance costs are high. Unpleasant squeaking sounds often occur as side effects. Klüber Lubrication's new product Klüberrail LEA 62-2000 is a highly efficient, fully synthetic wheel flange lubricant for the environmentally sound lubrication of rail vehicles.

"Klüberrail LEA 62-2000 is a lubricant offering excellent wear protection of wheels and rails to significantly reduce wear and tear of these components", explains Thomas Kamprath, Market Manager Rail at Klüber Lubrication. "It reduces downtime and increases operational reliability."

The new wheel flange lubricant also reduces stick-slip effects on curves for less noise. The fluid grease is suitable for use in automatic spray systems and offers a wide service temperature range. It provides excellent adhesion, making sure it stays on the wheel, even at high speeds. Furthermore, it offers very good rain resistance. The base oil used for Klüberrail LEA 62-2000 is rapidly biodegradable according to OECD 301 F.
