Munich, September 23rd, 2014 – Trains can only run smoothly and on time if switches function properly any time under all weather conditions. The lubricant plays a crucial part in this. The synthetic, rapidly biodegradable high-performance lubricant, Klüberrail AL 32-3000 for railway switches developed by Klüber Lubrication ensures low switching forces event at temperatures down to minus 30 degrees.
The lubricant offers good wear protection and excellent adhesion on the slide plate, extending relubrication intervals. "Lubricating railway switches is manual work. As staff costs for lubricant application are normally considerably higher than the costs for the lubricant itself, one of the most important lubricant requirements is long relubrication intervals", explains Thomas Kamprath, Market Manager Rail at Klüber Lubrication.
Klüberrail AL 32-3000 has good UV resistance preventing gumming of the applied lubricant after long exposure to sunlight. The product can be applied both by portable spraying equipment and brush due to the low viscosity of this synthetic speciality lubricant.
Klüberrail AL 32-3000 was especially developed as a biodegradable lubricant for slide plates since the lubricant may drip off and enter the environment.
