Munich, September 23rd, 2014 - Railway gears have to show increasing performance, constant reliability and efficiency while their dimensions become smaller. The lubricant used for these gears contributes to meeting such requirements. With the railway gear oil Klübersynth GE 4 75 W, Klüber Lubrication launched a fully synthetic solution for the lubrication of gears specifically developed for the operating conditions encountered in railway operation. This high-performance gear oil offers high resistance to scuffing and micropitting as well as very good protection against wear on gear teeth and rolling bearings. The base oil's shear stability prevents the lubricant film from collapsing, which is essential to protect both teeth and rolling bearings.
With its excellent resistance to ageing and oxidation, Klübersynth GE 4 75 W 90 can attain a much longer service life than conventional gear lubricants based on mineral oil, enabling longer service intervals and lower maintenance costs. Furthermore, Klübersynth GE 4 75 W 90 offers very good corrosion protection as well as excellent low-temperature behaviour.
Klübersynth GE 4 75 W 90 can be used in spur, bevel and hypoid gears, especially with API GL4 or API GL5 requirements, and is approved by several gear manufacturers like IG Watteeuw, Voith Turbo, Siemens-Flender, Stadler Rail, Bombardier and by the German railway operator Deutsche Bahn.
