The newly developed Klüberbio RM 2-100 and Klüberbio RM 2-150 presented by Klüber Lubrication are non-toxic, readily biodegradable stern tube oils for fixed-pitch and controllable-pitch propellers. These applications below the water line are at the focus of ship owners' demand for eco-compatible alternatives to the mineral oil-based products predominantly used today. Klüber Lubrication engineers have succeeded in developing these oils optimally compatible with the elastomer materials of most commonly used seals so that the propeller shaft seal's life expectancy remains unaffected.
Klüberbio EG 2-150 is another readily biodegradable gear oil recently launched by Klüber Lubrication especially for use in thrusters and rudder propellers. With this synthetic oil, Klüber Lubrication has succeeded in developing an eco-compatible alternative to mineral oil which at the same time offers the reliability required for these gears with their taxing lubrication requirements. Klüberbio EG 2-150 is also compatible with the elastomer materials commonly used. The special oil has a high scuffing resistance and shows superior service life and viscosity-temperature behaviour compared to conventional mineral oil-based gear oils.
