Klüber Lubrication live at the Formula Student RollOut show in Vienna and Graz

The new Formula Student racing cars are finished. In the coming months, they will be taking part in a wide variety of competitions on famous racetracks such as Spielberg, Silverstone and the Hockenheimring. Formula Student is a design contest, where students can test their acquired engineering knowledge with the help of well-known suppliers on the race track and at the same time they deal with the economic aspects of automotive engineering. Klüber Lubrication supports a large number of teams with lubricants worldwide every year and finds together with the students the ideal and efficient component-appropriate lubricant solution.

Klüber Lubrication Austria represented by Doris Dejmek and Helmut Voglmaier met during the official rollout events the young designers of the TUW Racing Team Vienna and the TU Graz team. They were able to convince themselves of the professionalism of both teams and could look at the new designed racing cars.

Vienna: Since three years, the TUW Racing Team, which starts in the Electric engine class, is working with lubricants from Klüber Lubrication. For the first time in 2017, the team is also taking part in the new Driverless class - autonomous vehicles without a driver.

During the construction of this year's "edge 9", the team's aim was to increase the power spectrum of the gearboxes. "The challenge of the young designers was to combine the torque of the self-developed electric motor with the lowest power losses to the direct drive (planetary gear). With Klübersynth EG 4-1000, the component life of the gearbox could be increased. The transmission oil also protects against extreme food spills, vibrations and vibrations.

In the steering gear of the "edge" range, the Klübersynth GE 46-1200 is used, which ensures a reliable lubrication film. The excellent after-flow behavior ensures a constant supply of the lube points with lubricant."

Graz: The TU Graz Racing Team was already very successful in the combustion engine class in 2016 and reached the 2nd place in the World Rallye Championship. In 2017, the team focused during the development of the race car, on the tribology and the improvement of the efficiency of the powertrain. Klüber Lubrication provided for the synchronous / tripod joint Klüberlub HE 71-281. "The special composition of our special lubricant ensures a high efficiency in the joint and a high component performance of the entire unit. Klüberplex BEM 34-131 N is used for the wheel bearings – the long-term lubrication grease offers excellent wear protection and withstands the enormous lateral forces during the race.

The aim was and is to examine the assemblies in their entirety and to allow the lubricant to flow into the construction as a construction element.

We are looking forward to the following Formula Student competitions in Spielberg and Hockenheimring.
We wish you success!
