Shipowners and operators receive the manufacturer’s confirmation that the product meets the classification requirements of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for an Environmentally Acceptable Lubricant (EAL) with regard to biodegradability, toxicity, and bioaccumulation in accordance with Appendix A of the EPA Vessel General Permit (VGP).
