Klüber Lubrication, a worldwide manufacturer of specialty lubricants, will exhibit its line of pioneering nonylphenol ethorxylates (NPE)-free needle oils and multi-purpose perfluorinated polyether (PFPE) lubricant at Techtextil North America, May 13–15 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga. Representatives from Klüber Lubrication will be available at booth #1913 to discuss the products and share expertise in this area.
Klüber Lubrication will display the following environmentally friendly NPE-free needle oils:
- Klüber Madol N Series
- Klüber Madol Supreme Series
- Klüberoils Tex 1-N Series
- Klüber Silvertex Series
The environmentally friendly Klüber Madol 900 N Series is the most extensive line of NPE-free needle oils in the market today. They are used to lubricate needles, sinkers, cams, cylinders, dials and sinker rings of large-diameter knitting machinery. The unique oils fulfil the wide-ranging operational requirements found in today’s modern knitting mills and are suitable for applications in circular and flat-bed knitting equipment. The Klüber Madol 900 N Series protects needles from excessive wear, corrosion and rust and are easily washed out under normal scour procedures.
Research has found that NPEs can be extremely harmful to the environment and to people. Utilizing its in-house laboratories in Germany, China and the United States, and through consultation with customers, suppliers and machinery manufacturers, Klüber Lubrication developed its line of NPE-free needle oils as a safer and successful alternative to conventional NPE-based oils, while retaining the two key properties needed in production – wear protection and ease of oil removal (scourability). Klüber Lubrication also partnered with North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles to conduct independent wash tests under normal scour conditions.
Klüber Lubrication will also showcase Klübertemp GR AR 555, a multi-purpose lubricant offering good corrosion protection and high evaporation stability. Developed for high-temperature applications (up to 250 °C) and applications exposed to aggressive media, Klübertemp GR AR 555 is a white, homogeneous long-term grease based on a PFPE oil and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Common applications include pillow blocks/bearings, seals, rotary joints, ball bearing chains, as well as circulating fan bearings in various textile machinery.
Techtextil North America describes itself as “the only trade show in the Americas dedicated to technical textiles and nonwovens.” Product groups at the show will represent the entire value-added chain in the technical textiles and nonwovens sector, and several vertical industry segments will be represented.
