Food & Beverage Reduce Maintenance With New Heat Transfer Fluids

Klϋber Lubrication, a worldwide manufacturer of specialty lubricants, introduces Klüberfood NHT1 1-18 and Klüberfood NHT1 1-39 – heat transfer fluids for the food-processing and pharmaceutical industries.

Klüberfood NHT1 1-18 is designed for closed heat transfer systems offering excellent thermal stability and increased heat transfer efficiency. It is based on highly refined hydrocarbons, therefore avoiding impurities that can occur in mineral oils. These impurities can initiate degradation of the oil and form carbon buildup on heater surfaces. The high purification level in Klüberfood NHT1 1-18 increases thermal stability and reduces fouling of the oil. Accordingly, Klüberfood NHT1 1-18 allows users to reduce maintenance activities and extended oil change intervals.

The low base oil viscosity of Klüberfood NHT1 1-18 enables fast startups of heating systems. In addition, its low viscosity and high density make Klüberfood NHT1 1-18 a highly efficient heat transfer fluid.

Klüberfood NHT1 1-39 is also formulated for closed heat transfer systems offering very high thermal stability – even at 590⁰F (310⁰C) operating temperatures. As a result, oil change intervals can be extended, which cuts maintenance costs. Plus, the negligible vapor pressure of Klüberfood NHT1 1-39 minimizes reaction in vented expansion tanks to reduce oxidation residues and sludge formation.

Thanks to its NSF HT1 registration, Klüberfood NHT1 1-18 and Klüberfood NHT1 1-39 are suitable for use as heat transfer fluid not only in the food and pharmaceutical industries, but also in various industries such as textiles, chemicals, automotive, asphalt, cement and wood.
