Coatings for die casting
Release agents such as die coatings are required to ensure a long lifetime of casting tools and moulds. They influence the casting characteristics and flow behaviour of the metal to ensure homogeneous casting without blow holes and with a perfect surface after forming with little or no subsequent finishing.
Forming with release agents
Surface quality and long die and tool lifetime also matter when it comes to hot-working processes like forging or hot pressing. The release agent’s cooling and lubricating effect, low contamination and easy application is key to efficient production.
