Theodor Klüber establishes a mineral oil processing plant and starts the production of oil mixtures.

Production of speciality lubricants starts.

First foreign subsidiary set up in Belgium.

"Mineralölfabrik Theodor Klüber" becomes "Klüber Lubrication".

The first production plant abroad is taken into operation in Austria.

Takeover by the Freudenberg Group of Weinheim.

Klüber Lubrication sets up first subsidiary on the American continent in Brazil.

The first Klüber company in Asia is set up in Japan, another follows in Hong Kong a few years later.

Klüber Lubrication Australia Pty. Ltd. is set up.

As Klüber Lubrication (Pty.) Ltd. South Africa is set up, Klüber Lubrication is now in a position to serve customers worldwide from a company on their own continent.

Klüber Lubrication acquires Summit Industrial Products Inc., Tyler, USA, a specialist supplier of compressor oils.
- 1998
Opening of new research and development center at the Headquarters in Munich.
- 2002
Klüber Lubrication strengthens its position in the textile industry by taking over the North American manufacturer of needle and sinker oils Madol®.
- 2003
In Mexico, Klüber Lubrication takes up production at the new Querétaro site with its highly advanced facilities.
- 2004
Freudenberg Chemical Specialities KG is set up in Munich, forming Freudenberg's new chemicals business group. Freudenberg Chemical Specialities comprises Klüber Lubrication München KG, Chem-Trend, Howell, Michigan, USA, and OKS Spezialschmierstoffe GmbH, Munich.

By setting up a subsidiary in Russia, Klüber Lubrication is now represented with its own sites in all four BRIC countries.
- 2008
Klüber Lubrication starts operation of the group's most advanced production plant at Shanghai Industrial Park.
