Manufacturing according to GMP standards

To avoid contamination of pharmaceutical products, risk control of lubricants in accordance with the Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines (GMP) is required. Klüber Lubrication offers registered and certified lubricants for use in the pharmaceutical industry.

The control of contamination risks is a major issue in the GMP guidelines aiming at preventing the intrusion of any undesirable materials into pharmaceutical products. In tablet presses, blister packaging machines, capsule filling installations, autoclaves, separators or centrifuges contact between the pharmaceutical product and ancillary substances is not always avoidable. Risk control therefore includes all operational supplies - including lubricants - used in manufacture.

Klüber Lubrication has developed special lubricants which comply with the stringent GMP guidelines applying in the pharmaceutical industry and has them registered by the National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) as H1 products. Klüber is having its manufacturing sites for H1 lubricants and the products themselves certified by NSF according to the international standard ISO 21469.
