1976 - Klüber airborne: cruising speed 1460 mph

Following more than 5000 hours of testing, the first take-off of the Concorde ushers in a new era in civil aviation. A special rolling bearing grease from Klüber is part of it right from the start - without this design element, the Concorde could fly, but not land! Loads acting on the tapered roller bearings in the airplane's landing gear are immense: when touching down, the wheels and bearings are accelerated from 0 to 1670 rpm in a fraction of a second. This calls for an extremely stress-resistant lubricant, especially because it is cooled to -55°C during flight.

Accelerating to 1670 rpm while ice-cold - Klüber found this was a challenge worth taking. And ISOFLEX NBU 15 proved it could be done.
