Dry Lubrication: Properties, Possibilities, Applications

Basically, there are three ways to dry lubricate: with coatings, dry depots or incorporated materials. Bonded lubricants provide wear protection by improving friction coefficients and sliding properties. Special bearing compounds for high loads and low speeds ensure "clean" for-life lubrication, thermal stability up to 550 ºC, excellent corrosion protection as well as resistance to water and oil. Provided operation loads are not too high, tribo-system materials allow components to be utilized without having to think about the lubrication aspect (as the lubricant is already incorporated in the material itself).
