Innovative oils for slick production Terrot, Klüber, Siemens and Argillon have come together to raise awareness about the problems of using unsuitable needle oils on circular knitting machines Published in Knitting International, February 2004 |

|
The principal task of needle oils, running-in, and cleaning oils used in circular knitting machines is to lubricate the mechanical parts of the machine to minimise friction and reduce wear. This helps to extend the lifetime of needles, sinkers and cams. Of course, good scourability of the needle oils is also important if problems and irregularities are to be avoided in the finishing process. A further aspect of lubrication is to reduce machine operating temperatures and prevent corrosion. |
