Strong character even under extreme pressure: the oxygen sliding agent OXIGENOEX FF 450 "breaks" the 450-bar barriers

There are two things that define the good character of an oxygen sliding agent: it must never react with this medium, since otherwise the function of the fittings and valves involved might be impaired. And the product has to remain aloof even when faced with ultra-high oxygen pressures or pressure surges. With OXIGENOEX FF 450, its new oxygen sliding agent for extreme pressures, Klüber Lubrication effortlessly meets both these stipulations.

Coping with unprecedented pressure

Molecular oxygen is an aggressive, explosion-friendly gas, which is why contact with conventional lubricants must be avoided. Only special sliding agents, tested and approved by the German Federal Agency for Material Research and Testing (BAM), can safely handle their jobs in valves, fittings or systems that carry oxygen. The BAM recently confirmed an operating temperature of up to 60°C, and a maximum oxygen pressure of up to 450 bar for the new product from Klüber Lubrication. These values underpin the product’s out-in-front status, since they have not been surpassed by any other oxygen sliding agent.

Users of the new product benefit not only from the high performance reserves in terms of oxygen pressure surge resistance. Its resistance to gaseous chemicals, too, plus the low evaporation rates of all its constituents, offer advantages in many applications. The good pressure absorption capacity and consistent friction coefficients ensure maximally constant actuating forces in operation. Production and tailoring of the sliding agent are subject to special purity stipulations. And finally, each consignment of OXIGENOEX FF 450 is accompanied by a batch-referenced BAM certificate for pressure surge resistance.
