Renaming of BARRIERTA-I greases

In January 2005, the four lubricating greases of the BARRIERTA I series will be supplied with their new names on the label. The names are to be extended by a 3-digit number indicating the viscosity of the base oil and the NLGI grade. Klüber has been successfully used such nomenclature with other product lines for many years.

The new designation provides information on important product characteristics, which facilitate lubricant selection and avoid confusion.

BARRIERTA I lubricants are available in four viscosity grades.

The extended designation contains the following information:

The high-performance greases of the BARRIERTA I series meet high service life requirements in rolling and plain bearings subject to high temperatures. They contain a special thickener and a high percentage of oil to enhance smooth running of the bearings. BARRIERTA IEL-102 and BARRIERTA IMI-202 have proven successful for many years as long-term lubricants for electrical contacts in high and medium voltage installations.

In the sixties, Klüber was the first lubricant manufacturer to launch high-temperature lubricants based on completely fluorinated oils, i.e. the BARRIERTA brand, thus laying the foundation for the worldwide distribution of this class of lubricants. Today, BARRIERTA lubricants are an essential element in many applications.
